December feels like a month of festive celebrations with Christmas parties and end-of-year break ups. I was working with a team of engineers recently and one of the goals of the workshop was to ‘Make friends with Feedback’. So I asked them, ‘If feedback was a food, what would it be’?
Their responses were great!
‘Some good, some not so good. You can pick the different toppings off if you don’t like them.’
‘It’s expensive to buy a good one. It might feel funny in your mouth, but you know its good for your stomach’.
‘Sweet on the outside, but a surprise awaits you inside. And you might choke on that surprise!’
‘Everyone loves it when it’s good, but they have their own preference of what makes a good lasagna. There’s Nonna’s lasagna and then there’s one from the supermarket in the plastic’.
‘It comes in layers and makes you cry!’
‘Leave it too long and it goes brown’.
What a great way to get your team talking about feedback! What is your answer?
